Retractable Bollards provide high level protection and can be lowered into the ground when not in use. At MSA Bollards we have 3 manual retractable bollard models and 1 automatic electric. The MK2 is lifted/lowered with a T handle tool. The SD uses a battery drill with specialised key. The SPU is raised/retracted using a clutch lift key. Finally the electric can be programmed to a switch or remote control. Retractable bollards are perfect for hotel drive-throughs, roll-a-door entrances, gateways, lane ways, cul-de-sac entrances, car park entrances, and emergency thoroughfares.

Why do you need a retractable bollard?

Sentry MK3

Sentry MK3 bollards are an upgraded MK2. They can still be lifted with a “T” lifting handle tool and are flush to the ground when lowered. However, MK3s are now an assisted lift with the help of a gas strut. This makes it much easier to raise and lower, further lessening the risk of OHS injuries.

These tough round bollards are available in galvanised, colour powder coated steel, or stainless steel finish. Reflective bands can be added as an option. These bollards are available with flat tops and in a range of dimensions. These bollards can be finished in a colour to suit the client’s aesthetic. The bollard locks can be individually keyed or keyed alike. High security Bi-lock, Abloy or Evva locks can be fitted as an option. These bollards can be installed by core drilling into an existing surface or they can be installed in new concrete footings.

Sentry electric

Sentry Electric Retractable Bollards provide high level protection and have a high quality appearance. They can be lowered into the ground when not in use, leaving an area flat to allow pedestrian and vehicular access. Stylish safety lighting can be included for pedestrian safety and/or to enhance the streetscape. Raising and lowering the bollards electronically means no OH&S issues relating to lifting. With the remote control you no longer have to get out of your car to struggle with lifting/lowering/adding/removing bollards, it’s all done for you!

The stainless steel bollards are constructed from tough steel posts and are available in two different dimensions. The raising and lowering of the bollards is by electric motors using a fixed location switch or a remote control unit. Reflective bands can be added as an option. Safety lighting, with 12 or 24 volt LEDs in various colours, can be fitted on request. Installation is typically into a new concrete footing.

Sentry MK2

The Sentry MK2 bollard can be easily manually lifted or lowered into position using the “T” lifting handle tool, however the heavy-duty version will require a two-person lift. When lowered the bollard top sits flush with the ground.

Sentry SPU

The Sentry SPU bollard can be easily manually lifted and lowered into position using the clutch lift tool. The internal lock is operated by the clutch lift tool as well providing optimum security and ease of use.

These tough square bollards are available in a galvanised or colour powder coated steel or stainless steel finish. Reflective bands can be added as an option. There is a range of models available, with four heights and either square or round bollard shape options, with flat tops. These bollards can be finished in a range of colours to suit the client’s specifications. These bollards can be installed by core drilling into an existing surface or they can be installed in new concrete footings.
